Basketball Game Preview: Josey Eagles vs. Lakeside Panthers

The Josey Eagles and the Lakeside Panthers will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Josey was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to Morgan County. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 15-4 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Lakeside scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to Augusta Christian. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (59), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Josey, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Josey came up short against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in November of 2017, falling 84-77. Thankfully for Josey, Kalen Williams (who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 40 points and 11 boards) won't be suiting up this time.
