Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Pinelands Regional

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Howell, Pinelands Regional was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Manasquan Warriors a 3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-2 on April 3rd.

The result came thanks to Elianna Meola's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kendall Falduto was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cassie Gould, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Pinelands Regional pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Manasquan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinelands Regional will welcome Howell at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manasquan, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Toms River North at 10:00 a.m.
