Volleyball Recap: Champion Comes Up Short

Champion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the South Range Raiders. The Golden Flashes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-11, 25-17.

Champion's offense was headlined by Tara Johnson and Kennedy McKee, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Zoe Patelle and her 14 assists.

Haylie John was a one-woman wrecking crew For South Range. as she had 17 digs and two aces. What's more, John posted five assists, the most she's had since September 2nd.

Champion's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for South Range, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Coming up, Champion will take on Southeast at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Range, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Struthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
