Recap: Syracuse Rockets vs. Conestoga Cougars
The Syracuse Rockets lost against the Conestoga Cougars back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Syracuse fell 62-51 to Conestoga. While losing is never fun, Syracuse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Conestoga is ranked 46th).
It was another big night for Noah Simones, who scored 21 points along with three steals for Conestoga. Zachariah Smith was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Conestoga, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Syracuse will challenge Douglas County West on Tuesday. Douglas County West is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games. As for Conestoga, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
