Softball Recap: Clinton-Massie Find Success

Clinton-Massie let Goshen stack four runs on them in the first inning on Friday but luckily Clinton-Massie prevailed anyway. The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Warriors. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 10-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

Ava Crombie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Karley Goodin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Clinton-Massie has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Goshen, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.

Coming up, Clinton-Massie will face off against Batavia at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Goshen, they will square off against Northmont at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
