Basketball Preview: Heartland Huskies vs. Fullerton Warriors
The Heartland Huskies will venture away from home to take on the Fullerton Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Heartland came up short against Riverside and fell 59-51. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Heartland saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sam Quiring, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance also gave Quiring a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Thane Wetjen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Fullerton entered their tilt with Nebraska Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over the Eagles. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season.
Heartland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Fullerton, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Heartland was able to grind out a solid victory over Fullerton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 64-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heartland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
