Basketball Recap: Barr-Reeve Starts Season with Win Against Washington

Barr-Reeve had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past the Washington Hatchets with a 66-62 victory. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 50-42 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Barr-Reeve to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kierson Lengacher, who went 7-for-10 en route to 16 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Lengacher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylon Graber, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 19 points.

Looking ahead, Barr-Reeve will welcome Medora at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Southridge at 7:30 p.m. on December 5. This will be the Hatchets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
