Basketball Recap: Everglades Comes Up Short

Everglades lost against Western back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Everglades Gators were beaten by the Western Wildcats 69-13. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 583rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 259th).

Everglades dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Western, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Everglades will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Stranahan at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Everglades is facing Stranahan at the right time seeing as Stranahan is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Western and Beachside will round out the year against one another at at 7:50 p.m. on December 27th.
