Baseball Recap: Crismon's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Crismon entered their tilt with Poston Butte on Thursday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Broncos get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Kenny Wilsford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Aaden Lopez was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Zachary Jernigan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Crismon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poston Butte only posted an OBP of .250.

Crismon's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.6 runs over those games. As for Poston Butte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Crismon is taking a road trip to square off against Central at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Rattlers are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Poston Butte, they will welcome Mohave at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Thunderbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.45 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of.
