Basketball Game Preview: Highland Hornets vs. Belen Eagles

Highland has gone 9-1 against Belen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Highland Hornets will be playing at home against the Belen Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Highland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by an 80-59 margin over Valencia on Monday.

Highland's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jesus Licon, who to rack up 25 points and seven assists, and Juan Limas, who en route to 28 points along with seven boards and five assists. Those 28 points gave Limas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Cheng, who posted seven points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Highland was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Belen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 71-63 victory over Grants. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Highland's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Belen, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.

Highland took their win against Belen in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 58-34. In that matchup, Highland amassed a halftime lead of 30-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
