Recap: Overhills Jaguars vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs
There's no place like home for the Overhills Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 62-37 margin over Terry Sanford. Given Overhills' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Terry Sanford is ranked 517th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Jordan Bryant, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Ej Stokes, who scored 9 points.
Terry Sanford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnathan Higgins-Simmons, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of James Ravenell, who scored 6 points.
Overhills now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Terry Sanford, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Overhills will head out on the road to face off against E.E. Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for Terry Sanford, they will be playing at home against Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Triton is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
