Volleyball Recap: Unioto Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Adena, Unioto was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Paint Valley Bearcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Shermans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bearcats, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Unioto was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-14, 25-10.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Unioto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Stanley, who had 14 digs and seven aces. Stanley is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season.

Stanley wasn't the only good server: Unioto was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive matchups.

Unioto's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. As for Paint Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unioto will challenge Southeastern at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paint Valley, they will face off against East Clinton at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
