Volleyball Recap: Viera Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Viera lost against New Smyrna Beach back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hawks came up short against the Barracudas, falling 3-0. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Viera ultimately came up short, they really made New Smyrna Beach work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 27-25, 25-9.

Shaylee Wreggit paced Viera's offense, picking up five kills. Wreggit got some help from Allie Brown and her ten assists. Finally, Emery Hart kept Viera's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Viera now has a losing record of 1-2. As for New Smyrna Beach, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Viera will challenge Riviera Prep at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for New Smyrna Beach, they will venture away from home to challenge Beachside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
