Baseball Game Preview: Connellsville Falcons vs. South Allegheny Gladiators

The Connellsville Falcons will take on the South Allegheny Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Monday, Connellsville was able to grind out a solid win over Gateway, taking the game 5-1.

Mason Miller looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grayden Gillott was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Zawislan, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, South Allegheny earned an 8-5 victory over Steel Valley last Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Caleb Jackowski, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Mason Campano was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

South Allegheny was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Steel Valley only posted a batting average of .160.

South Allegheny pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Connellsville, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
