Soccer Recap: Ketchikan Falls Short of Palmer in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Ketchikan can now relate to. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Palmer Moose who were credited with the victory on Friday. The Palmer Moose got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Ketchikan Kings' three. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ketchikan of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

They hit Palmer with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Richard Evison, Kelvin Jiang, and Joseph Larson.

Ketchikan's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Palmer, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1-3.

Ketchikan has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Kenai Central on the 31st. As for Palmer, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Soldotna on the 31st.
