Soccer Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem lost against First Colonial back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sundevils came up short against the Patriots, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Salem can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while First Colonial are ranked ninth).

Salem has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for First Colonial, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem is set to face off against their familiar foe Green Run at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, First Colonial will square off against rival Princess Anne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
