Baseball Recap: Biglerville Victorious

Biglerville won the last time they faced York Catholic and things went their way on Monday too. The Canners walked away with an 8-5 win over the Fighting Irish. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Canners.

Jared Hollabaugh made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Biglerville is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Hollabaugh was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Caleb Woolson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Gavin Althoff was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Biglerville's record now sits at 4-5. As for York Catholic, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Biglerville will head out to face off against Littlestown at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for York Catholic, they will venture away from home to challenge Hanover at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
