After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fletcher, Fernandina Beach was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Global Outreach Charter Academy Kodiaks by a score of 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Global Outreach Charter Academy scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 26-24, 25-20.

Ava Maggart paced Fernandina Beach's offense, picking up nine kills. Maggart got some help from Sara Drawdy and her ten assists.

When it comes to explaining why Global Outreach Charter Academy lost, don't look at Lauren Leandro-Gonzalez. Despite the final result, she had 31 digs and six aces. Leandro-Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lizette Cabrera, who had 12 digs.

Fernandina Beach's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Global Outreach Charter Academy, they now have a losing record of 10-11.
