Football Recap: Dunnellon Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Dylan Curry and William(Lj) Woods

Dunnellon's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 20-7 to the Vanguard Knights. The Tigers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Dunnellon had strong showings from William(Lj) Woods, who picked up 90 receiving yards and one TD, and Dylan Curry, who threw for 150 yards and one touchdown. Woods really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 86 yards.

Dunnellon now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Vanguard, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunnellon will challenge Eastside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Vanguard, they will square off against Lecanto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
