Basketball Recap: Veritas Academy Comes Up Short

Veritas Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Savannah Athletic Association Jaguars.

Savannah Athletic Association got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matt Tucker out in front who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Davis, who posted 20 points and four steals.

Veritas Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Savannah Athletic Association, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Veritas Academy will head out on the road to square off against Savannah Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Savannah Athletic Association, they have already played their next contest, a 62-57 defeat against Memorial Day on the 18th.
