Basketball Recap: Jack Webb Key Part of Team Effort in Bobcats Win

Seneca took a 22-point defeat the last time they faced off against Westside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 93-90 win over the Rams on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since November 23, 2024.

Seneca's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Webb, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Webb has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Will Russell, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 14 boards.

Seneca smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 18 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Westside's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonovan Webb, who went 10-for-23 en route to 29 points. Terrance Estrich was another key player, shooting 50% from the field on his way to 14 points and five assists.

Seneca's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points over those games. As for Westside, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Seneca and Wren will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westside will be paying especially close attention to the Bobcats' game: after the Bobcats face off against Walhalla, they'll take on Westside again at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
