Basketball Recap: Sulphur Bluff Takes a Loss

If Sulphur Bluff was riding high fresh off their 54-14 takedown of Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sulphur Bluff Bears took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Celeste Blue Devils on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1144th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 441st).

Sulphur Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Celeste, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sulphur Bluff will head out to challenge Saltillo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Celeste, they will take on Wolfe City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
