Basketball Recap: Cathedral Takes a Loss

Cathedral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Bishop Amat Lancers, falling 73-29. Having soared to a lofty 60 points in the game before, the Phantoms couldn't push the score so high this time.

Bishop Amat's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aiden Shaw led the charge by going 9 for 11 en route to 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Shaw's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rayshaun White, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points.

Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Bishop Amat, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-5.

Cathedral has already played their next match, a 61-50 victory against Salesian on the 3rd. As for Bishop Amat, they will head out to face off against Edgewood at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Amat is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.8 points per game this season.
