Basketball Game Preview: Macon County Bulldogs vs. Bryan County Redskins

Two dominant guards in Morgan Cochran and Jasmine Mikell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Macon County Bulldogs will challenge the Bryan County Redskins on Friday. Macon County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 13 games.

Macon County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Manchester 50-31. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cochran continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Aliyah Lake was another key player, going 5-for-9 to rack up 11 points and six boards.

Macon County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bryan County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Hawkinsville with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 46-29.

Bryan County pushed their record up to 24-3 with the victory, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points over those games. As for Macon County, their record now sits at 20-3.
