Basketball Recap: Harnett Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Harnett Central managed to keep up with Fuquay - Varina until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Trojans came up short against the Bengals, falling 89-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (60), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Harnett Central still got an impressive performance from Rylan Beasley, who shot 82% from the field en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Beasley continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. King Murdock was another key player, going 7-for-12 to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Fuquay - Varina's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Beckett Coon, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 23 points and five assists. The contest was Coon's seventh in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Abdou Diop, who went 6-for-11 en route to 15 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Harnett Central dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fuquay - Varina, their record now sits at 3-1.

Looking ahead, Harnett Central will challenge Clayton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fuquay - Varina, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-54 victory against Athens Drive on the 25th.
