Baseball Recap: Hilldale Has No Trouble Against Eufaula

Hilldale won the last time they faced Eufaula and things went their way on Friday too. The Hilldale Hornets were the clear victor by a 13-5 margin over the Eufaula Ironheads. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Case Leach looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Mason Pickering was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayson Parker, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hilldale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eufaula only posted an OBP of .417.

Hilldale's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eufaula, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coincidentally, Hilldale and Eufaula will both be playing Fort Gibson the next time they take the field. Hilldale will host Fort Gibson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Eufaula will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
