Softball Game Preview: Wylie East Raiders vs. Mansfield Tigers

The Wylie East Raiders will take on the Mansfield Tigers in a tournament on Saturday. Wylie East's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Mansfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Wylie East is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Trinity just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 6-4.

Jayleigh Dressler and Isabella Flores did some serious damage despite the final result: Dressler went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Flores went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That home run was Dressler's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gabby Flores, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Mansfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Frenship. The game marked the first time this year in which Mansfield was not able to get on the board.

Wylie East's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Mansfield, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
