Soccer Recap: Cedar Grove Comes Up Short

Cedar Grove lost against Montclair back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers lost 5-0 to the Mounties. While losing is never fun, Cedar Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey soccer rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Montclair are ranked 31st).

This is the second loss in a row for Cedar Grove and nudges their season record down to 2-5-1. As for Montclair, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-4-2.

Looking ahead, Cedar Grove will head out on the road to face off against Verona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montclair has already played their next match (against Westfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
