Volleyball Recap: Gainesville Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Gainesville waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over The Rock Lions. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

Gainesville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-23.

Jorryn Dye paced Gainesville's offense, picking up 15 kills. Dye got some help from Charlotte Judge and her 32 assists. Jacey Carter-Mitchell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Gainesville's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for The Rock, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gainesville will face off against Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for The Rock, they will head out to square off against Academy of Central Florida National at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
