Softball Recap: Beyer Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Beyer waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Pacheco Panthers. Considering the Patriots have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jordyn Lish made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chelsee Toon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Mckenna Kimoto was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Beyer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pacheco only posted an OBP of .111.

Beyer's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Pacheco, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Beyer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Gregori on the 22nd. As for Pacheco, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-2 defeat against Lathrop on the 21st.
