Volleyball Recap: Pomperaug Triumphs + How To Watch

Pomperaug's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Bunnell Bulldogs 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Pomperaug took Bunnell into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 22-25, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12.

Pomperaug found their leader in sophomore Abby O'Connell, who had two aces and one block. O'Connell also set a new season-high mark in assists with 22.

Pomperaug was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bunnell only served nine.

Despite the defeat, Bunnell had strong showings from Livia Sampaio, who had 16 digs, and Maddy Stansberry, who had six digs and five kills.

Pomperaug's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Bunnell, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Pomperaug didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Stratford on the 19th. As for Bunnell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against New Milford on the 19th.
