Soccer Game Preview: La Costa Canyon vs. Torrey Pines

La Costa Canyon hasn't had much luck against Torrey Pines recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The La Costa Canyon Mavericks will face off against the Torrey Pines Falcons.

On Wednesday, La Costa Canyon and San Dieguito Academy finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Torrey Pines). Everything went their way against Carlsbad on Wednesday as Torrey Pines made off with an 8-3 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Torrey Pines and bumps their season record up to 6-11-1. La Costa Canyon's draw makes their record 7-5-4 this season.

La Costa Canyon beat Torrey Pines 2-0 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Costa Canyon since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
