Softball Recap: Woodlake's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Woodlake won against Granite Hills on Tuesday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Tigers never let the Lindsay Cardinals get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 games by six runs or more this season.

Audrina Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Lara, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Noemi Aldana, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Woodlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindsay only posted an OBP of .118.

The win (which was Woodlake's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Lindsay, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14-1.

Woodlake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-2 win against Strathmore on the 6th. As for Lindsay, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 loss against Corcoran on the 6th.
