Softball Recap: Soledad Finds Home Field Redemption Against Marina

There's no place like home for Soledad, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Marina Mariners on Wednesday as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The Aztecs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Soledad let Sophia Gonzalez and Arlette Mosqueda run wild. Gonzalez got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Mosqueda went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jaylynn Garcia, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Soledad always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.

Soledad's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Marina, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Soledad will face off against Stevenson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Aztecs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Marina, they will take on Greenfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
