Baseball Recap: Tohatchi Wins Going Away Against Wingate

Tohatchi won the last time they faced Wingate and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Bears. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 11 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Thomas Bitsie made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Bitsie was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Amir Woodie and Thurmond Bitsie did most of the damage at the plate: Woodie got on base in three of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Thurmond went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Bitsie a new career-high. Maurice Destea was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Tohatchi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Tohatchi's record is now 13-6. As for Wingate, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tohatchi beat the Bears by a score of 5-4 later that day.
