King's Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Cardinal Gibbons into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, 15-12.

Meanwhile, JC Bermudez Doral sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Divine Savior Academy on Tuesday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was JC Bermudez Doral who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 23-25, 25-15, 21-25, 15-13.

JC Bermudez Doral's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. As for King's Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 20-5.
