Baseball Recap: Antwerp Archers vs. Edgerton Bulldogs
Antwerp had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it four. They came up short against the Edgerton Bulldogs, falling 13-1. If the Archers were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Antwerp saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Sproles, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
As for Edgerton, they now have a winning record of 6-5. The game marked their most dominant win of the season so far.
On Edgerton's side, Kellen Sanchez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Sanchez also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Edgerton is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Sanchez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, Noah Weaver was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Bryce Schroeder was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Antwerp will take on rival Hicksville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Edgerton is set to challenge their familiar foe Tinora at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
