Soccer Recap: Duchesne Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Mercy

Duchesne faced Mercy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cardinals fell 3-1 to the Monarchs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Mercy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in April.

Duchesne's goal came courtesy of Josie Quattrocchi, who's now up to 22 this season.

Duchesne's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Mercy, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Mercy didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Skutt Catholic on the 7th. Hopefully Duchesne paid attention to the Monarchs' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Monarchs at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
