Recap: Palmetto Tigers vs. Sarasota Sailors
The Palmetto Tigers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were beaten by Sarasota 59-25. Palmetto has not had much luck with Sarasota recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Palmetto lost, one person who can't be blamed is Solaura Glover. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points.
Palmetto struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Sarasota racked up 15 assists.
Sarasota's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paisley Binswanger, who scored 16 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Sofi Miller, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Palmetto has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Sarasota, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.
Palmetto will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Keswick Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Keswick Christian will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Sarasota, they will head out on the road to take on IMG Academy Blue at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. IMG Academy Blue will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Sarasota is ranked 58th).
