Liberty is 2-8 against Camp Point Central since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Eagles will look to defend their home field  against the Panthers  at 4:30  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Liberty got the win against Astoria/VIT  by a conclusive  18-8. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive  win against them.
 Ava Heming made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit over six innings pitched. Heming was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Claire Obert was  incredible,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and three  runs. Another player making a difference was  Riley Fessler, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
 Liberty was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Astoria/VIT only posted a  batting average of  .227.
Meanwhile, Camp Point Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp  15-9 victory.
 The team  relied heavily on  Claire Huston, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in March of 2024.  Karly Peters was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Liberty's win was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-5. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Camp Point Central, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
 Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Friday. Liberty hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.9  home runs per game. However, it's not like Camp Point Central struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 0.5  home runs.
