Football Recap: Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Takes a Loss

After soaring to 31 points the game before, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 63-12 defeat at the hands of the Plainview Pirates. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.

Although Laurel-Concord-Coleridge took the loss, they still got scores from Drey Puppe and Kolten Settje.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Talon Carson and Settje. Settje got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Gage Walton produced another solid performance rushing for 91 yards and five TDs on only ten carries, while also picking up 63 receiving yards for Plainview. Walton has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Plainview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Plainview will square off against rival Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
