Baseball Recap: Vinemont Takes a Loss

Vinemont lost against Pennington back in April of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vinemont Eagles fell 7-4 to the Pennington Tigers.

Banks Borwick was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Vinemont saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen McKinney, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Nicolas Jankowski also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Vinemont's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-4. As for Pennington, their record is now 8-4.

While Vinemont had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
