Softball Game Preview: Paso Robles Bearcats vs. Orcutt Academy Spartans

The Paso Robles Bearcats will venture away from home to face off against the Orcutt Academy Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paso Robles has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Paso Robles came into this matchup off a tough nine-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Pioneer Valley by a score of 15-13 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bearcats have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Kylee Nancolas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Madison Paz was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orcutt Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Templeton 2-1.

Orcutt Academy now has a winning record of 11-10-1. As for Paso Robles, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13-1 record this season.
