Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Gianna Smart and Jayla Templeman Lead Tate to Victory + How To Watch

The Tate Aggies got the win against the Jay Royals on Friday by a conclusive 3-0.

Tate was led to victory by Jayla Templeman and Gianna Smart. Templeman had nine digs and four aces, while Smart had seven digs. Templeman has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Tate was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive contests.

Tate's record now sits at 17-5. As for Jay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-4 record this season.

Tate and Jay should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Aggies will challenge West Florida at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (88 vs. 363). Meanwhile, Jay (ranked 132nd) will meet Central (ranked 376th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
