Monta Vista lost to Homestead back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Matadors had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 3-2.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (107-95) Monta Vista actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 17-25, 12-25, 26-24, 15-13.

Monta Vista's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5. As for Homestead, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-5 record this season.
