Football Game Preview: Western Christian Wolfpack vs. Cherokee Washington Braves

The Western Christian Wolfpack will venture away from home to challenge the Cherokee Washington Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Western Christian won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Central Lyon/George-Little Rock 34-33. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Lions are ranked 145th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cherokee Washington made easy work of Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley on Friday and carried off a 43-20 victory.

Western Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Cherokee Washington, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Western Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Cherokee Washington when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 20-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolfpack since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
