Softball Recap: Magee Starts off Right with Win over Taylorsville

Magee had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Taylorsville Tartars by a score of 12-9 on Saturday. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Tartars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2016.

Magee got a big performance out of Jamyia Walker, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Carsyn Drake was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Taylorsville is on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coincidentally, Magee and Taylorsville will both be playing Mize the next time they take the field. Magee will head out to face Mize at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Taylorsville will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
