After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barnwell, Edisto was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lake Marion Gators a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Cougars have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Max Dempsey was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Edisto is undefeated when Dempsey posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-6 otherwise.
In other batting news, Ryder Bingham was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Edisto: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
