Basketball Recap: Lyman Drops Highest Score of Season Against Manila

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lyman). They strolled past the Manila Mustangs with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 61-45. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 48-40 back in December of 2024.

Lyman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anna France, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Smith, who went 5 for 11 en route to 11 points.

Manila's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ruthanna Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Kallie Bair was another key player, putting up seven points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Lyman's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-4. As for Manila, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyman will host Kemmerer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Manila has already played their next matchup (against Wendover), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
