Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Mathematics & Science vs. Mather Rangers

Chicago Mathematics & Science hasn't had much luck against Mather recently, but that could start to change on Friday. Chicago Mathematics & Science will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Mather at 5:00 p.m.

Chicago Mathematics & Science is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake View on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mather). They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 58-14 win over Chicago Academy. The Rangers have beaten the Cougars the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Chicago Mathematics & Science better keep an eye on Temilade Yesufu. She was instrumental in Mather's win, going 10-for-13 en route to 27 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Yesufu has scored at least a third of the Rangers' points. Johanna Eliot was another key player, shooting 67% from the field on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Chicago Mathematics & Science ended up a good deal behind Mather in their previous matchup back in January, losing 37-20. Can Chicago Mathematics & Science avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
